Monday, September 25, 1933Sunday, October 21, 2018

Rosemarie Selensky, 85, a guest of the Meadows Manor for the past two years and a longtime resident of West Wyoming, fell asleep in the Lord early Sunday morning, October 21, 2018, at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.

Her beloved husband was the late Andrew F. Selensky Jr., who passed away on October 17, 2009. Together, Andy and Rosemarie shared 57 beautiful years of marriage.

Born on September 25, 1933, in West Wyoming, Rosemarie was one of sixteen children born to the late Harry and Julia (Kandrovy) Repak.

Rosemarie was a graduate of the former West Wyoming High School, Class of 1951.

Prior to her retirement, Rosemarie was employed for twenty years as a secretary for the former Keystone Garment, Edwardsville. In her earlier years, she was employed as a secretary for the former Harris Hardware, Kingston.

Rosemarie was a devout member of Saint Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, Swoyersville, where she was a member her entire life. Active within her church, Rosemarie was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, and also helped with various fundraisers for the church.

An active and outgoing person, Rosemarie was also bright and cheery and she loved being around people, most especially her family and friends. She also had a passion for traveling and she was blessed to visit various places throughout her life.

Above all, the greatest part of her life was the time she shared with her husband, Andy. Rosemarie and Andy had a deep love, devotion, and mutual respect for one another. Although her presence will be deeply missed, there is much comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved Andy and all those family members and friends who have gone before her.

In addition to her parents, Harry and Julia Repak, and her husband, Andrew, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael, Frank, John, Peter, Joseph, Adam, and Deacon Andrew Repak; and her sisters, Julia Matusavage, Helen Volack, Josephine Chupka, Margaret Mandell, Mary Brenkus Guziejka, Eva Kinzey, and Anna Mae Lauro.

Rosemarie is survived by her sister, Eleanor Ondish and her husband, Richard, Silver Spring, Maryland; her nieces who were like daughters to her, Barbara Howell and her husband, Thomas, Swoyersville, who were also her devoted caregivers; Julianna Turoski, Wisconsin; and Paulette Kamiskas and her husband, Thomas, Massachusetts; generations of nieces and nephews; her sisters-in-law, Geraldine “Gerry” (Selensky) Rish, Swoyersville and Anna Mae (Selensky) Colondo, Hollidaysburg; and her adopted niece and friend, Barbara Broussard, Massachusetts.

My condolences to the family. I remember "Aunt Rose" and "Uncle Andy" as kind and caring people. They were both part of our Podskoch family growing up. Michael Podskoch
I'm so sorry to hear of Rose's passing. Uncle Andy was my godfather and Aunt Rose my sister Susan's godmother. I have many memories of them visiting us on our respective birthdays and holidays throughout my childhood. They were both so nice and thoughtful. Sincere condolences. Joe Podskoch JR
