Victoria B. Kopec

Saturday, February 13, 1926Friday, October 26, 2018

Victoria B. Kopec, 92, a former longtime resident of Yates Street, Forty Fort, passed into eternal life late Friday evening, October 26, 2018, at the Partridge-Tippett Nursing Facility of the Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Township, where she was a guest for the past two years.

Her beloved husband was the late Leo S. Kopec, who passed away on May 18, 2010. Together, Leo and Victoria shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on February 13, 1926, in Swoyersville, Victoria was one of eight children born to the late George and Victoria (Dzugan) Yagojinski.

A devoted homemaker all of her life, Victoria lovingly tended to the daily needs of her family.

Victoria was a faithful Catholic and a lifelong member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville, holding membership with the church’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.

A woman of many enjoyments, Victoria especially enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and quilting. Above all, her favorite enjoyment was being surrounded by her loving family.

Victoria will forever be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Although her presence will be deeply missed, there is much joy in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Leo and her family members who have gone before her.

In addition to her parents, George and Victoria Yagojinski, and her husband, Leo, Victoria was preceded in death by her son, Thomas R. Kopec, who passed away on December 04, 2016; her brothers, Frank Yagojinski, George Yagojinski, John Jagozinski, and Joseph “Yagi” Yagojinski; and her sisters, Mary Kislow, Sophie Burke, and Helen Bobroski.

Victoria is survived by her children, Leon Kopec and his wife, Betsy, Harrisburg; Robert Kopec and his wife, Janet, Forty Fort; Edward Kopec and his wife, Margy, Forty Fort; James Kopec and his wife, Conchi, Kingston; and Patricia Ricci and her husband, Stephen, Mission, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Kopec, Edwardsville; her ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; and generations of nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Victoria’s wishes, the viewing and funeral service will be privately held for her immediate family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
