Edward J. Weitock Jr., 71, a resident of Pringle, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, June 03, 2019, at River Run Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, following a brief illness.

His loving wife is Virginia L.J. (Fromel) Weitock. Together, Edward and Virginia celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on March 20th.

Born on June 16, 1947, in Wilkes-Barre, Edward was the only child born to the most loving and adoring parents, the late Edward Weitock Sr. and Lenora (Skripka) Weitock.

Edward, along with his parents, resided in North Miami Beach Florida for 23 years, returning to the Wyoming Valley in the early 1970’s. He was a graduate of North Miami High School, North Miami, Florida.

A man of many enjoyments, Edward loved golfing, bowling, deep sea fishing, and flying model airplanes. He held membership with the Wyoming Valley RC Flyers Club, Hunlock Creek, and the Nanticoke Seniors Golf Club.

Above all, Edward was a loving and warm-hearted husband, father, son, cousin and friend. He was like a “big teddy bear” and was the most loyal and true friend. His presence will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, Virginia, Edward is survived by his daughter, Leila Weitock and her husband, Danash Ganjeh, Bear Creek; his son, Anthony Weitock, Pringle; and his cousins, Charles Stetz and his wife, Joanne, Clarks Green; and Elaine Miller, Albany, New York.

Condolences

To the Weitock family. I am so sorry for your loss. I know Ed loved you all very much and expressed his love for everyone many times. Ed was my best friend and closest cousin. We had so much fun growing up together, going on picnics with our family's, bowling, swimming at Harvey's lake and of course golfing. We always enjoyed getting out in the fresh air to golf and enjoy natures views and of course complain about our golfing. I will miss Ed greatly, but I will never forget him. Ed and his family will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Charles Stetz
I wanted to express my condolences to Ed's family. I first met Ed when I started dating his cousin Charles over 40 years ago. They were close in age and spent many years together growing up. They both considered each other brothers. We have shared many good times together with he and Ginny over the years. He has left us too soon however his spirit lives on in his children. That is something to be cherished. May God Bless You at this time and always. Joanne Stetz
I met Ed in 1973 when he joined the Wyoming Valley RC Flyers. We became good friends and traveled to model airplane events together. I enjoyed the moments we had together and he will be missed. On behalf of the Wyoming Valley RC Flyers, please accept our condolences. Larry Wright
