Cynthia Martz, 52, a resident of Kingston, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born on February 20, 1966, in Danville, Cynthia was one of five children born to the late Neal and Jean (Reibsome) Martz.
Raised in Danville, Cynthia was a graduate of Danville Area High School, Class of 1984.
Cynthia was currently employed as a manager for La Tolteca Mexican Restaurant, Wilkes-Barre.
When Cynthia wasn’t working, she spent her free time starting various home improvement projects. She often enjoyed hosting “porch nights” where she invited her family and her “misfits,” people who needed somewhere to go where they felt like they belonged.
Family was the center of Cynthia’s life and she cherished every moment she shared with her loved ones. She was especially known for her quirky holiday traditions, which included hosting Thanksgiving and driving around on Christmas Eve looking at light displays with her kids.
Cynthia is survived by her four children, Marlena Sholtis, Harveys Lake; Kelsey Sholtis, Kingston; Brandi Sholtis, Kingston; and Joseph Sholtis Jr., Kingston; her brothers, Neal “Bud” Martz and his wife, Bonnie, Danville; Andrew Martz and his companion, Donna Garrity, Danville; and Heath Martz and his wife, Kelly, Greenville, South Carolina; her sister, Tammy Snyder and her husband, Eugene, Danville; as well as her numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Cynthia’s viewing which will be held on Sunday, February 03, 2019, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
