Dorothy Theresa Wolinsky, 86, a longtime resident of Swoyersville, most recently a guest at Tiffany Court, Kingston, passed into eternal life early Thursday morning, June 29, 2017, at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas, where she was a guest for a short time.
Her beloved husband was the late Walter C. Wolinsky, who passed away on January 15, 1978. Together, Walter and Dorothy shared 29 wonderful years of marriage.
Born on May 31, 1931, in Kingston, Dorothy was one of eleven children born to the late Andrew and Helen (Basista) Balberchak.
Prior to her retirement, Dorothy was employed as a trimmer for various garment manufacturers in the Wyoming Valley.
Dorothy was a faithful Catholic and a longtime member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
A woman of many enjoyments, Dorothy especially enjoyed taking walks around Swoyersville, going to the Mohegan Sun Casino, and dancing to Polka’s with her late companion, Frank Lyckowski. Dorothy also enjoyed being an amateur photographer, and she possessed a great love for animals throughout her life.
Above all, Dorothy’s greatest enjoyment in life was being surrounded by those who meant the world to her – her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Andrew and Helen Balberchak, and her husband, Walter, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Joan Wolinsky; her grandson, Gregory James Wolinsky; her brothers, Albert and Andrew Balberchak; her sisters, Emily Walko, Catherine Eget, Helen Balberchak, Mary Paternoster, and Elizabeth Hawronsky; and her companion of 17 years, Francis Lyckowski Sr.
Dorothy is survived by her four children, Christina Vince and her husband, Joseph, Pittston; Bernadette Prapuolenis and her husband, Horst, Forty Fort; Charles Wolinsky and his wife, Barbara, Kingston; and Joseph Wolinsky, Hermitage; her eight grandchildren, Tanya, Ryan, Maria, Jessica, Nicole, Joshua, Elisa, and Jason; her ten great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Isabella, Luke, Daniel, Benjamin, Anthony Joseph “A.J.”, Vincenzo, Olivia, Addisyn, and Sophia; her sisters, Constance Zacharkiw, Rita Lemonowski, and Regina Dannert; as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Monday, July 03, 2017, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
