Robert W. Soboleski, 60, a resident of Larksville, passed into eternal life on Friday evening, December 06, 2024, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 31, 1964, in Passaic, New Jersey, Robert was the son of the late Robert Soboleski and Gloria Beverly Yagloski Soboleski.
Raised in New Jersey, Robert was a graduate of Wallington High School, Wallington, New Jersey, Class of 1984.
A proud United States Navy veteran, Robert honorably served his country during peacetime.
Robert furthered his education in Oklahoma leading to a career as a Certified Crane Operator for Stinger Wellhead Inc. Additionally, he was a Distinguished Fire Fighter with the Wallington Fire Department, Engine 202, Wallington, New Jersey, where he received an award for heroism as he saved a fellow firefighter during a fire. Prior to his career as a crane operator, he was employed and enjoyed his time as the Librarian and Production Manager for the NBA.
Robert held dual membership with the American Legion, Post 655, Larksville, being both a regular member and a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was also a member and past president of the Paradise Social Club, Swoyersville.
An avid outdoorsman, Robert was an expert fisherman and accomplished hunter, and was a member of several hunting and fishing clubs throughout the years. He was also a great fan of the New York Giants, and loved spending time with his dogs, Max, Mia and Jesse.
Robert was blessed to share his life with the love of his life, Sandra. He regarded her family as his own and loved spending time with all of them, most especially their grandchildren, Maya, Mason, and Hannah.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Kim.
Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, Sandra Chest Najaka, and her family; his aunts, an uncle, cousins, and friends; his sister, Stacy; as well as his beloved dogs, Max, Mia and Jesse.
Sandy would like to thank everyone who treated them with kindness and compassion, especially Dr. Ankur Parikh, Sue Lasalle, and the medical staff at Asplundh Cancer Center, Willow Grove; and Dr. Matthew Kozicki and Caroline Kudrich PA from Commonwealth Health.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with services by the Officers from the American Legion, Post 655 and where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Navy.
