Ronald N. Lindsay, 67, a resident of Kingston, passed away on Friday afternoon, September 12, 2014, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Inpatient Unit, Dunmore.His loving wife is Karen (Schwarzwalder) Lindsay. Together, Ron and Karen celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on June 21st.Born on May 13, 1947, in Newark, New Jersey, Ronald was the son of the late Norman and Louise (Prutz) Lindsay.Ron was a graduate of Westminster College, Class of 1969, where he acquired his Bachelor Degree in Political Science.A United States Army veteran, Ron honorably served his country for over three years during the Vietnam War. During his time of service, Ron was commissioned to study the Vietnamese Language and Interrogation. For one year, he served in Vietnam with Army Intelligence as an interpreter and interrogator. He was honorably discharged from active duty on July 13, 1973.Since 1976, Ron has been employed as a salesman in the Wyoming Valley. Prior to his retirement in 2013, Ron was employed as a salesman for Penn Warranty Corporation, Wilkes-Barre. Over the years, he also worked for Rudebon Patio’s, Golden Business Machines and Union Paper Company.Ron was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting, Kingston.A man of many enjoyments and interests, Ron was an avid golfer, a military history buff, an avid reader and a lover of poetry.By far, Ron’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family. He will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.In addition to his loving wife, Karen, Ron is survived by his son, Robert Lindsay and his wife, Melissa, Harding; his daughter, Jennifer Lindsay-Schlappich and her husband, Darren, Kutztown; and his grandsons, Eli and Hayden.Ron was privately laid to rest in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Wyoming, where Military Honors were accorded by the United States Army.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service which will be celebrated on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 11:00 AM in the Church of Christ Uniting, 776 West Market Street, Kingston.A reception and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service.Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.For additional information or to send the Lindsay Family an online message of condolence, you may visit the funeral home web-site www.wroblewskifuneralhome.com.The family has kindly requested that flowers be omitted.
